Toward Automatic Verification of Goal-Oriented Flow Simulations
نویسندگان
چکیده
We demonstrate the power of adaptive mesh refinement with adjointbased error estimates in verification of simulations governed by the steady Euler equations. The flow equations are discretized using a finite volume scheme on a Cartesian mesh with cut cells at the wall boundaries. The discretization error in selected simulation outputs is estimated using the method of adjoint-weighted residuals. Practical aspects of the implementation are emphasized, particularly in the formulation of the refinement criterion and the mesh adaptation strategy. Following a thorough code verification example, we demonstrate simulation verification of twoand three-dimensional problems. These involve an airfoil performance database, a pressure signature of a body in supersonic flow and a launch abort with strong jet interactions. The results show reliable estimates and automatic control of discretization error in all simulations at an affordable computational cost. Moreover, the approach remains effective even when theoretical assumptions, e.g., steady-state and solution smoothness, are relaxed.

Modular Aspect Verification for Safer Aspect-Based Evolution
A long-term research goal for Aspect-Oriented Programming is the modular verification of aspects such that safe evolution and reuse is facilitated. However, one of the fundamental problems with verifying aspect-oriented programs is the inability to determine the effect of the weaving process on the control flow of the program, and thus on the state of the system and subsequently the properties ...
متن کاملInfluence of optic flow on the control of heading and target egocentric direction during steering toward a goal.
Although previous studies have shown that people use both optic flow and target egocentric direction to walk or steer toward a goal, it remains in question how enriching the optic flow field affects the control of heading specified by optic flow and the control of target egocentric direction during goal-oriented locomotion. In the current study, we used a control-theoretic approach to separate ...
متن کاملSpinning the OWL-S Process Model - Toward the Verification of the OWL-S Process Models
In this paper, we apply automatic tools to the verification of interaction protocols of Web services described in OWL-S. Specifically, we propose a modeling procedure that preserves the control flow and the data flow of OWL-S Process Models. The result of our work provides a modeling and verification procedure for OWL-S Process Models.

متن کاملBehavior Alignment and Control Flow Verification of Process and Service Choreographies
The representation of process and service choreographies has been recognized as an important requirement in service-oriented methodologies. The guarantee of alignment between process and service choreographies and the verification of the behavior of choreographies represent an important improvement for such methodologies, since they enable the automatic generation of choreography service specif...
